After the total blockade decided in recent days due to the first case in Europe of the haemorrhagic disease of deer, registered in Arbus , the exemption for the movement of ruminants in Sardinia has arrived.

The provision signed by the director of the Veterinary Public Health Service and Food Safety Antonio Montisci concerns intra-regional movements "for urgent reasons of animal welfare and custody, with particular reference to movement towards the pasture codes or return to the farm from the same pastures ».

«A first good news that we requested in the first meeting of the Crisis Unit which immediately demonstrates its effectiveness», explains the president of Coldiretti Sardegna, Battista Cualbu.

The derogation is granted "exclusively for urgent and proven welfare, custody and grazing reasons and with prior agreement between the veterinary services of departure and destination at least 48 hours before movement".
