The cinema of today and tomorrow will have different characteristics, which you will have to conceive, design, build. Cinema's growing interrelation with television and with other platforms it opens up extraordinary opportunities. These are paths that you are already pursuing successfully and with great public appreciation . The multiplicity of audiovisual transmission means is also leading to a comparison, an exchange of languages and expressive methods. It is no longer possible to imagine a space of cinema separated from this context so rich and in movement. However, cinema must know how to preserve its original trait, its culture of the message , its poetry, so that dialogue will be more profitable ". These are the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella , at the ceremony in the Quirinale for the presentation of the candidates for the David di Donatello .

"The delivery of the David di Donatello is a great event of Italian culture ", continued Mattarella. “Its history is so long and intense, and it is so deeply rooted - thanks to the initiative and tenacity of the founder Gian Luigi Rondi - that it is almost an encyclopedia of our cinema ”. Then the “greatest compliments to Giovanna Ralli and Sabrina Ferilli”, recipients respectively of a career and special award.

Giovanna Ralli : particularly for my generation she is a legend, with her elegance and her skill - said Mattarella -. Thank you for your words ". And then “ Sabrina Ferilli : a nice image, enthralling, irresistible in her skill. Two Roman actresses, who are now officially in the history of David. Two well deserved awards ".

THE NOMINATIONS - And here are all the nominations in competition at the 67th edition of the award, with the award ceremony scheduled for tomorrow evening - live on RaiUno with the conduct of Carlo Conti and Drusilla Foer - from the Cinecittà studios .

The films that have received the most nominations are "It Was the Hand of God" and "Freaks Out" . Followed by "Qui Rido io" with 14 nominations, while "Ariaferma" by Leonardo Di Costanzo and "Diabolik" received 11. Among the actors in the first nomination are Mirian Leone who plays Eva Kant in "Diabolik" and Filippo Scotti who plays the role of the young Paolo Sorrentino in “It was the hand of God”.

During the ceremony, the David for Lifetime Achievement will be awarded to Giovanna Ralli and the special David to Sabrina Ferilli . Special award also to director Antonio Capuano .
