Campari has reached an agreement to sell its Averna amaro and Zedda Piras Sardinian mirto liqueur to Illva Saronno Holding , owner of the iconic Disaronno and the historic Sicilian wines Florio and Duca di Salaparuta, among others. The total consideration for the transaction is €100 million . Closing is expected within the first half of 2026.
The transaction between Campari and Illva Saronno Holding involves the creation of a newly incorporated company (NewCo) to which the businesses of Averna and Zedda Piras will be transferred, including intellectual property, the finished goods inventory, certain employees, the production plants in Caltanissetta, Sicily (for Averna), and Alghero, Sardinia (for Zedda Piras) , goodwill, other contractual agreements and other related assets.
Illva Saronno Holding and Campari Group have entered into a transitional agreement for the Averna blending and bottling production activities at Campari Group’s Italian plant in Canale and a temporary distribution agreement under which Campari will continue to market Averna and Zedda Piras in certain markets such as Germany, Austria and Switzerland, prior to the transition to the Illva Saronno Holding commercial structure .
