Michael Fabbri, from the Ravenna section, has been appointed as the referee for Cagliari-Inter on Sunday evening (8:45 PM). After last Saturday's resounding victory in Parma , the Rossoblù return to the pitch for the Serie A opener at the Unipol Domus, with the stadium set to record its first sold-out crowd of the season. Fabbri will be assisted by Valerio Vecchi (Lamezia Terme section) and Marco Ceccon (Lovere), the fourth official will be Federico La Penna (Roma 1), the VAR referee will be Gianluca Aureliano (Bologna), and the VAR assistant will be Daniele Paterna (Teramo).

Fabbri is in his first season, having played his last game in Serie B on May 8th. However, he hasn't faced Cagliari in almost a year and a half: a 1-1 draw against Genoa, also at the Domus, on March 7th, 2025. Against the Rossoblu, he has only won 3 of his 16 previous matches, the last 0-2 at Crotone on February 28th, 2021, against 7 draws and 6 defeats . Against Inter, however, he has played the same number of games but with 11 wins, 2 draws, and 3 defeats.
