Fabio Pisacane has been handed a one-match suspension and a €10,000 fine following his dismissal last Friday in the 1-0 Coppa Italia victory over Arezzo. The Sports Judge ruled this the day after the conclusion of the round of 32, along with all the penalties for matches played in recent days. The coach later apologized for his reaction at a press conference .
Pisacane will therefore be unavailable for the next Coppa Italia match, Cagliari vs. Verona, which will also be played as a one-off at the Domus in the first or third week of September (date and time still to be determined). The reason for the expulsion was "for aggressively addressing the fourth official with disrespectful criticism in the 53rd minute of the second half." The fourth official, Davide Di Marco, reported the infraction.
Cagliari also received a €3,000 fine : not related to Pisacane's expulsion, but for strict liability "for unjustifiably causing a delay of approximately two minutes at the start of the second half." Daniel Maldini and Matteo Prati, both booked, are now on a suspension.
