The 43rd edition of the Jazz in Sardinia Festival - European Jazz Expo will close on Saturday 4 November .

Closing in style at 9pm with the long-awaited concert by Joshua Redman, one of the most acclaimed and charismatic jazz artists to emerge in the nineties . Son of art (his father, the saxophonist Dewey Redman was the historic collaborator of Ornette Coleman), he is considered among the most influential African-American musicians on the planet.

Due to his personal style which remained strongly linked to tradition, he has become a point of reference for all lovers of the tenor sax. He has released over 20 albums (Warner & Nonesuch), and 16 as a leader, he has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards, winning six Awards as "Best new Artist, Jazz artist of the year". On the stage of the Teatro Massimo he presents his new artistic project, a debut for Blue Note Records, entitled "Where Are We".

A musical journey through the United States of America, a project of ballads, standards, romanticism, social reflection, melodic invention, improvisation. "Where Are We" also marks Redman's first vocal album alongside Californian singer Gabrielle Cavassa.

Together with Paul Cornish on piano, Philip Norris on double bass and Nazir Ebo on drums, Redman signs one of his most compelling albums, closing a very happy edition of the European Jazz Expo in style.
