Cagliari: here is the Zedda Council. Five out of nine are women

It will only be made official on Monday afternoon , when the centre-left-led city council will meet for the first time in Cagliari . But the council that will support mayor Massimo Zedda in leading the capital for the next few years is ready . The distribution of the top boxes takes into account not only the political balance that emerged from the polls, but also the gender balance. And this is why "the team will be made up of more women than men" confirmed the mayor himself.
Within the highly selected mix package of the mayor , who together with the majority parties has managed the boxes of the council in recent weeks, two identikits have been making their way for some time and are now confirmed: Cristina Mancini and the lawyer Giuseppe Macciotta (Pd), two loyal to the mayor. They will enter the Council precisely at Zedda's "quota". The role of deputy mayor is also looming for the former general director. The others are: Yuri Marcialis (an expression of the PD in the Fadda area), who returns after having been councilor for Sport in the last Zedda council, between 2016 and 2019, the lawyer Giulia Andreozzi (Avs), the engineer and architect Matteo Lecis Cocco Ortu (Pd Schlein area), the psychologist and social policy expert Anna Puddu (Progressives). Three brand new faces: the lawyer Luisa Giua Marassi (5Stelle), the journalist and writer Maria Francesca Chiappe (Progressisti) and the regional official Carlo Serra (Future Left).
For the moment, there are still no certainties regarding the delegations : this is the last game that the mayor and political forces are discussing in these hours. The only ones, barring unlikely upheavals over the weekend, are that Andreozzi will go to Education, Lecis Cocco Ortu to Urban Planning, and Chiappe to Culture. The match for the presidency of the Council has yet to be defined: Edoardo Tocco's heir should be Marco Benucci (Pd). All clues point to him, the most voted in the coalition that supports Massimo Zedda. But Matteo Massa's candidacy is still standing.
