Paul Mendy has not yet made his first-team debut, despite having played in the last four matches, but he has convinced Cagliari, who have signed him to sign a contract renewal until June 30, 2031. After Yael Trepy, who extended his contract on February 19 , the rossoblù are locking down another young striker for a long-term investment.

Born in 2007, Mendy is Senegalese and arrived at Cagliari in January 2025 from ASC Bambey. He has made 25 appearances with 12 goals for the Under-20 team this season under Francesco Pisano, plus one last year (on February 23, 2025) under Fabio Pisacane . He has been a permanent member of the first team since the match against Roma on February 9.

After a start marked by a brace and a sending off with a three-match suspension, since mid-December Mendy has scored in almost every match for the Primavera , which he is trying to lead to safety.
