Claudio Ranieri doesn't like the episodes that decided Verona-Cagliari ( which ended 2-0 for Hellas ), from the double yellow to Antoine Makoumbou just before the 1-0 to the 0-1 canceled out to Edoardo Goldaniga in the first half: "It's a shame: the expulsion changed the momentum of the match and Verona did well to find the way to the goal."

The goal was disallowed. In the first half Cagliari scored with Goldaniga, but the goal was disallowed for a millimeter offside. «In the image we have – comments Ranieri – there is the offside arm. If you can score with your arm it's right to cancel it, otherwise not: if I make a mistake I want to understand well. Against Sassuolo we were lucky because there was the tip of the opponent's shoe, which prevented us from conceding another goal, but not today."

The Red. Ranieri takes offense at Makoumbou's second yellow card, a naivety of the Congolese midfielder. «At the end of the first half I asked him if he was affected by the yellow card and he told me no. I trusted him and didn't change him, I'll show him the two fouls he made." This increases the regret, because then Verona immediately scored. «In the first half we came close to breaking the deadlock several times, first due to the post and then due to the disallowed goal. We wanted to end the match in a positive way: too bad, we went home with a good performance until the sending off. Afterwards, congratulations to Verona."

Racist chants. Ranieri also comes with heavy criticism towards the Bentegodi crowd: "It was a shame to hear racist chants against Makoumbou, unfortunately it has become a custom."
