Livio Marinelli, from Tivoli, has been appointed as the referee for Cagliari-Como, the early match of the twenty-eighth round of Serie A on Saturday (3:00 PM) at the Unipol Domus . The newly announced appointment will see him assisted by Davide Moro (from Schio) and Simone Biffi (from Treviglio), with Giovanni Ayroldi (from Molfetta) as the fourth official. VAR will be handled by Luigi Nasca (from Bari) and Marco Guida (from Torre Annunziata).

Under Marinelli, Cagliari have never won within 90 minutes: their only success was a 2-1 win over Palermo on August 12, 2023, in the Coppa Italia, but it came after extra time (0-0 after regulation time). Then came three draws (1-1 at Sassuolo on September 20, 2020, and 0-0 at the Domus against Roma on August 18, 2024, both on Matchday 1, plus a 1-1 draw at Juventus on October 6, 2024, with a late penalty awarded using VAR and Francisco Conceição's red card shortly thereafter for a second yellow card – following simulation) and a defeat on April 23, 2025, a 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina. He has made six appearances in Serie A this season, the last being a 3-0 win over Sassuolo-Verona on February 20.

Here are all the refereeing appointments for the twenty-eighth round of Serie A: the Milan-Inter derby stands out, assigned to referee Daniele Doveri of the Rome 1 section.
