Officially revoked the legal custody that subjected every action and expense of Britney Spears to guardians. The pop star is finally free.

This was decided by a Los Angeles court after thirteen years, ending a legal battle that had pitted Britney against her father Jamie.

The singer had been placed under legal guardianship, an institution usually reserved for very old people or no longer able to understand and want, since 2008, after a couple of publicized mental breakdowns.

Fortunately, however, Britney had recovered and continued to work and grind hundreds of millions of dollars. Money that he could not use without the authorization of his father and other guardians.

To support her the #FreeBritney movement, which had broadened the debate to the theme of "custodianship": "It is a movement for human rights", proclaimed Britney that at almost 40 years of age and for the first time in over a decade she will be able to now onwards to decide in total autonomy on his life. During the trial she had stated that she would like to marry again and have children, but that the guardians denied her an appointment with the gynecologist to remove the IUD.

Some issues remain open, including the payments of the lawyers in this decades-long battle. Judge Brenda Penny has yet to express herself on this and could do so in a new hearing scheduled for December 19.
