A Virginia judge rejected Amber Heard 's request for a retrial in the libel case against ex-husband Johnny Depp .

The actress's lawyers had asked to overturn the verdict that forces her to pay 10 million dollars to the star of the film "Pirates of the Caribbean" but the judge Penney Azcarate denied the request.

Among the explanations of the judge, the fact that there were no formal defects in the development, as claimed by the lawyers of Heard.

Last June, the actress was sentenced to pay more than $ 10 million in the lawsuit filed by Depp for defamation. His lawyers had asked to cancel the trial due to lack of evidence and also because one of the jurors would not have had to attend as the summons would be sent to his father, with the same name and the same residential address. However, the judge ruled that " there is no evidence of fraud or error " on the part of the juror and therefore the verdict remains valid. Not only that, Azcarate also noted that both sides accepted all the jurors at the start of the trial.
