"I presented a motion with my Sardinian colleagues that commits the government to intervene in favor of Air Italy workers in liquidation through the extension of the layoffs and to implement any more useful initiative aimed at facilitating their relocation to the labor market".

This was announced by Giuseppe Luigi Cucca, vice president of Italia Viva in the Senate.

The situation of the airline's 1,322 employees is dramatic: in the first days of the year, the letters of dismissal arrived, after the decision of the owners - despite repeated appeals from trade unions and the Sardinia Region - not to apply for an extension of the cig.

Meanwhile, the workers do not give up and on Tuesday they marched into Rome , attacking the government, guilty of having ignored their requests.
"The motion, signed by Cucca, Doria, De Vecchis, Floris, Lunesu, Evangelista, Fenu and Marilotti, goes in the direction of giving concrete support to the workers. I hope that Parliament will support it: we cannot abandon these professionals to their fate and their families. Now let's see if those who have the skills will pay the necessary attention to such a serious problem. In any case we will talk about it in the classroom ", he concluded.
