« Ukraine has not fallen, but it is alive and fighting . We will never give up and this is also thanks to the support of the United States". This is one of the passages of Volodymyr Zelensky's speech to the American Congress where he was greeted with a shower of applause and a standing ovation.

In his speech, the reference to Russia, indicated as a "terrorist state" which must be held responsible for the war. Also with a message to all Russians: «They will be free only when they defeat the Kremlin in their minds. Russian tyranny has lost control over us. The fight goes on and we must defeat the Kremlin on the battlefield ».

And again: « In a few days it's Christmas. In Ukraine we will also celebrate it by candlelight, and not out of romance. We don't have electricity and many don't have water . But we're not complaining. The light of our faith will illuminate Christmas".

Finally, the Ukrainian president gave Congress a flag of his country.

During his visit, Zelensky also met Nancy Pelosi and the leader of the Democrats in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, a force that has always been united in the belief that it wants to support Kiev.
