Visit to UK for Volodymyr Zelensky . The Ukrainian president, expected in Downing Street today , arrives on his first visit since the start of the Russian invasion to the UK to meet Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and British armed forces-trained Ukrainian troops.

The Ukrainian president is due to address Parliament, with London announcing increased support and training for fighter pilots.

"President Zelensky's visit to the UK is a testament to his country's courage, determination and struggle and a testament to the unbreakable friendship between our two countries," Sunak said. And again: «Since 2014, the United Kingdom has provided vital training to Ukrainian forces, enabling them to defend their country, protect their sovereignty and fight for their territory».

The British premier also announced an increase in this support: «I am proud that today we will expand this training from soldiers to marines and fighter jet pilots , ensuring that Ukraine has an army capable of defending its interests even in future".
From Great Britain also further sanctions in response to the continuous Russian bombing of Ukraine: those who have helped Putin to build his personal wealth and companies that profit from the war in Ukraine are targeted.

Zelensky could then arrive in Brussels in the coming days to participate in person in an extraordinary session of the plenary meeting of the European Parliament.
