More than 10 million Ukrainians have been left without electricity after new Russian bombings hit several cities, including Kiev.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his usual evening speech, underlining that a temperature of -10 degrees is expected in the coming days.

The bombings targeted energy infrastructure to bring Ukraine to its knees, depriving citizens of electricity and water: «Civilian sites are the main target, Russia is declaring war on electricity and heating for the people by doing blow up power plants and other energy facilities» , said Zelensky.

Massive attacks were already carried out on Tuesday, after the Russians abandoned the Kherson region, which Moscow however claims annexation.

In the meantime, there are no glimmers of negotiation. If Kiev wants to return to the borders of February 23, Moscow does not intend to give up the territories annexed in these months of war: " We are unshakeable in our position which certainly provides for our territorial integrity with all the recently annexed territories ", said the deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov.

But Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said in a briefing with journalists that the war could end "before Ukraine liberates all territories by military means".
