US missile launches ask the UN for new sanctions against North Korea

The tension between the United States and North Korea is back, the times of the historic meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong un are far away.

In the aftermath of the launch of what Pyongyang called a hypersonic missile, the US imposed sanctions on five North Koreans linked to the country's ballistic missile program.

The US Treasury explained that the five sanctioned are responsible for "procuring goods for North Korean weapons of mass destruction and related to the missile program."

Not only. Washington has proposed to the UN Security Council to adopt new international sanctions against the country due to the six ballistic missile launches that took place in September 2021, all in violation of the resolutions of the same Security Council.

The US ambassador to the Glass Building Linda Thomas-Greenfield made it known with a tweet.
