"I have a good relationship with Putin and Zelensky and no one else, except me, is capable of stopping the war in Ukraine," Donald Trump said in an interview with the sports website Outkick.
"I want to prevent more soldiers from dying - even if they are not Americans - because all this could lead to the third world war," added the American president, maintaining that "efforts to avoid a further escalation in the war between Ukraine and Russia are underway."
The White House is aiming to reach a truce agreement between Ukraine and Russia by April 20 , which this year coincides with Easter for both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.
