In protest against anti-Covid measures on planes, he boarded a United Airlines flight wearing a thong instead of a mask. "We take it off to drink and eat," he told the steward, who did not want to hear reasons.

The ending is predictable: the man, from Florida, was kicked out of the plane before take off. The aircraft was departing from Fort Lauderdale and headed for Washington.

Reporting the news is Nbc News, who also interviewed the episode's protagonist, 38-year-old Adam Jenne: "I think the best way to illustrate the absurdity of the mask is just nonsense," he said.

The man also admitted: "This is not the first time I get on a plane wearing a thong, on every single flight I have had different reactions from the crew," he said, saying that the undergarment correctly covered the nose and the mouth. This latter claim was denied by United Airlines which, "by regulation", forced him to get off the aircraft.

Jenne has even compared herself to Rosa Parks, a civil rights icon, the activist who made history for refusing to give her seat on a bus to a white man.

The episode was filmed by a passenger and went viral on social media. Some people stood up for the 38-year-old and abandoned the flight as a sign of solidarity.
