Aida Rostami, the 36-year-old Iranian doctor who in recent weeks treated injured protesters in Tehran who feared retaliation if they turned to the official health system, was killed.
She treated them in secret , also out of fear of retaliation. At least until earlier this week, when Aida Rostami suddenly disappeared.
A few days later the police showed up at the home of the doctor's family to return the lifeless body of the 36-year-old, stating that she had been the victim of a road accident .
But the doctors at the morgue have told the family that the body is in a state that undoubtedly disproves the hypothesis of the car accident. The body appeared mangled, with the typical signs of torture , reports the anti-regime news site IranWire.
