The alleged murderer of Vincenza Saracino, the woman from Preganziol (Treviso) found dead with stab wounds on July 3 in a disused industrial building not far from her home, has been identified and arrested in Venezuela.

Luigi Nasato, 32 years old, Italian-Venezuelan , was stopped in Maracay in the state of Aragua (Venezuela) thanks to the coordinated action of the Interpol Division, the Passenger Information Unit and the Security expert of the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police in Venezuela.

According to investigators, he met the victim on the afternoon of July 2, 2024. He invited her, under a still unclear pretext, to accompany him to the farmhouse by bicycle . Here he violently hit her on the head, then stabbed her five times, abandoning her at the scene of the crime with her bag and bicycle. He then spent the night at the home of relatives from Treviso, unaware of what had happened, to board a flight the next day in Venice to Madrid and, from there, subsequently to Venezuela.

The elements acquired by the Carabinieri of Treviso allowed the PM to request and obtain from the investigating judge at the Court of Treviso a precautionary custody order in prison, executed thanks to the support of the Central Directorate of Criminal Police.
