It is expected that a significant part of this grim production will be destined for Ukraine - reads the message - According to what the media say, the role of the Italian company RWM-Italia, based in Gedi (BS) and the main production chain will not be secondary in Sardinia : this company produces 120 mm caliber shells for the "Leopard-2" tanks and 155 mm caliber shells for heavy field artillery (much in demand by the Ukrainian Armed Forces)».

«It seems to be – continues the Russian embassy – the same plant which, due to public recriminations, had almost been closed for humanitarian reasons. In fact, it had supplied Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with ammunition which, presumably, had been used in the illicit air strikes against Yemen, causing numerous casualties among the civilian population. Conversely, it seems that in Italy almost no one cares about the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been bombarding the civilian structures of Donetsk and Lugansk with artillery since 2014 and that - since 2022 - they have also done so with 155 mm NATO projectiles".

«Perhaps – jokes the embassy in Moscow – they will say that the projectiles produced in Sardinia are "more humane" than the cluster munitions that the USA is about to deliver to Ukraine in batches and that, in this way, Italy will not helps fulfill its international commitments. Well , it will mean that we will consider the "very human" Sardinian ammunition as a sign of Italian gratitude for the investments that Russia has made in recent years and for the ten-year, great contribution that Russian tourists have made to the economic development of the island. .».
