Donald Trump is still working on a peace meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders, the White House said, after French President Emmanuel Macron warned that the American president risked being "made a fool" by Vladimir Putin if the latter did not agree to the meeting soon.
"President Trump and his national security team continue to work with Russian and Ukrainian officials to reach a bilateral meeting to end the killing and the war ," a White House official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP.
The Trump administration, meanwhile, has agreed to sell $825 million in weapons to Ukraine . A sign that, so far, American attempts to end the war have failed to yield concrete results .
