The United Russia party of President Vladimir Putin marches with great strides towards the expected success in the parliamentary elections: 46.6% of the votes were recorded when almost 55% of the votes were counted.

"Russia, Russia!" and "We are Putin's team", the cry on the streets of Moscow, despite the rain, of the president's supporters, waving the party flags. A "day of celebration" was the comment of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

Putin did not go to campaign headquarters in Moscow because he is in self-isolation after dozens of his entourage were infected with the coronavirus.

After United Russia, which lost 5-6% compared to the previous elections, according to the provisional data of the electoral commission, the most voted party was the Communist one with 21.3%, while the Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia of the ultranationalist Vladimir Zhirinovsky and the One Russia Just Party are around 8%.

The opposition that revolves around activist Alexei Navalny has spoken of electoral fraud, reporting widespread violations.
