The date for the Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo Carnival parades in Brazil with samba schools has been officially set.

After the postponement decided in recent months due to the health emergency due to Covid-19, the authorities of the two municipalities have set a new calendar. The celebrations, originally scheduled for February, are therefore scheduled for April, starting on the 21st.

In 2020 it was estimated that at least 7 million people took part in the events, which also attract European and North American tourists. Last year, however, the Sambodromo did not host floats and parades, but was used as a vaccination center.
