According to the first SSR / gsf.bern projections, 63% of the Swiss voted in favor in the referendum on the law that provides for the introduction of the anti-Covid certificate for access to restaurants, cinemas, gyms and events. Looking at the partial data, in the canton of Geneva for example, 64.08% of voters voted yes.
The population had already expressed itself in June 2021 on the Covid-19 law. At that time the text was approved with 60.2% of the vote.
But compared to the vote six months ago, the climate has turned sour: the No to restrictions front during the voting campaign has called demonstrations across the country. To protect the seat of government and parliament from any attacks by opponents of the health pass, the police have mobilized to deal with any protests.
In Switzerland, the pandemic numbers are also on the rise and the government needed to introduce new restrictions. For the contrary, the certificate is a violation of individual freedoms.
