When the financiers knocked on the door of his home, he was not at home: he was in a clinic in Naples, his city, for checks. The Guardia di Finanza has received a mandate to notify Pd MEP Andrea Cozzolino of a European arrest warrant on suspicion of being involved in the so-called Qatargate.
"From the elements collected by the Belgian secret services it appears that Cozzolino too, together with Antonio Panzeri and Francesco Giorgi, received funds directly from Mr. Atmoun", the Moroccan ambassador in Poland. We read in the text of the European arrest warrant issued by the Belgian magistrates against the Italian MEP and viewed by Ansa.
The European parliamentarian Dem, it is explained, had "direct contacts" with Atmoun and on June 1, 2022, during a meeting in Warsaw between the two, he also received "an honor and a tie and would have discussed the line to follow in the joint commission EU-Morocco of Pe".
At the end of the photodactyloscopic surveys, MEP Andrea Cozzolino will be taken to the Neapolitan prison of Poggioreale. In Cozzolino in the evening the Gico of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples notified a European arrest warrant issued by the Belgian federal prosecutor as part of the investigation into the so-called Qatargate.
