Paris denies the extradition of the former 10 Br to Italy: among them also Pietrostefani, instigator of the Calabresi murder
The Court of Appeal rejects the request for the former Italian terrorists. Pietrostefani's lawyer: "People are not parcels"The Chambre de l'Instruction of the Court of Appeal of Paris has decided to deny the extradition requested by Italy for the 10 former red terrorists arrested as part of the “Red Shadows” operation in April 2021.
Among them also the former Lotta Continua militant Giorgio Pietrostefani , convicted in Italy as one of the instigators of the murder of Commissioner Luigi Calabresi.
The extradition requests also concern the former Br Giovanni Alimonti, Roberta Cappelli, Marina Petrella, Sergio Tornaghi, Maurizio Di Marzio, Enzo Calvitti; the former militant of Workers' Autonomy Raffaele Ventura; the former militant of the Armed Proletarians Luigi Bergamin; the former member of the armed forces against territorial power, Narciso Manenti.
The lawyers of the former Italian terrorists, who had requested additional information on the dossiers, had asked the Court to reject the extradition requests .
The decision of the Chambre de l 'Instruction of the Court of Appeal of Paris was based on respect for private and family life and on the respect of the judgment of default , provided for by articles 8 and 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights, has explained the president.

PIETROSTEFANI'S LEGAL - "France decided 25 years ago that it would welcome it and people are not parcels that can be sent back. It is a reasonable decision taken for the protection of people and family roots and I express satisfaction, too because I always thought he was innocent. " This was explained by the lawyer Alessandro Gamberini, Italian lawyer of the former Lotta Continua militant Giorgio Pietrostefani.
