Four years in prison. It is the sentence imposed on a former Mexican beauty queen and her partner found guilty of a sensational theft carried out in Spain, in 2021, inside a luxury hotel in the city of Caceres.

Pretending to be wealthy tourists, in fact, Priscila Guevara and Constantín Dumitru made 45 bottles of wine with an estimated total value of 1.6 million euros disappear from the hotel cellar.

After the theft they fled, but nine months later they were arrested at the border between Croatia and Montenegro and taken back to Spain. The wine, however, was never recovered.

According to what has been ascertained by the investigations, Tatania and Estanisla (as they called themselves) showed up, in October two years ago, at the exclusive Atrio hotel using a false Swiss passport.

Here they enjoyed a 14-course meal at the property's Michelin-starred restaurant, followed by a guided tour of the cellar. “Estanislao” then returned to the cellar in the early hours of the following morning using a stolen key. And once inside he raided valuable bottles. The rarest piece? A bottle of a unique 19th century vintage, worth 350 thousand euros.
