The infections from Covid-19 are increasing and the State of New York is running for cover. Faced with the increase in cases, especially after “Thanksgiving day”, Governor Kathy Hochul has again introduced the obligation to wear masks in indoor public spaces. The provision comes into force on 13 December and will be valid until at least 15 January 2022. For offenders, fines of up to one thousand dollars are foreseen with the risk of criminal penalties.

Since Thanksgiving, the number of positives in New York has increased by 43 percent, hospitalizations have grown by 29 percent.
