Murder on the set of "Rust": Alec Baldwin indicted

Alec Baldwin indicted for "involuntary manslaughter" for the death of Halyna Hutchins, which occurred on the set of the film "Rust" in October 2021.

The woman, director of photography for the production of the western film, was hit by a bullet from the actor's gun, which however should have been loaded with blanks.

Baldwin's indictment was decided by a New Mexico grand jury, which expressed its opinion after "new elements" emerged from the review of the case.

From what we understand, the prosecutors decided to reopen the case after having the gun subjected to further analysis whose results, they say, would contradict the version of Baldwin, who had stated that he had not pressed his finger on the trigger .

“The tests concluded with certainty that the shot could not be fired without the trigger being pulled,” prosecutor Kari Morrissey said.

The film's gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, whose job was to supervise the safety of weapons and ammunition, is also still indicted for the incident.
