An Italian couple and their child - Rocco Langone, his wife Donatella and their son Giovanni, originally from Potenza - were kidnapped in Mali by "armed men" together with a man of Togolese origin. This was reported by local sources cited by France Presse. From what is known, the kidnapping took place in the south-east of the African country.

"Last night armed men on board a vehicle kidnapped three Italians and a Togolese in the town of Sincina" the sources specified.

For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making the necessary statements and has made it known that the Crisis Unit has taken steps to carry out "checks and investigations".

"Minister Di Maio is personally following the evolution of the affair ", adds the Farnesina in a note.
