Lebanon: Rocket hits UNIFIL base in Shama, raising fears for the Sassari Brigade and other Italian troops.

A rocket, the origin of which is still being determined, struck the Shama base in Lebanon, headquarters of the Italian contingent and the Western sector of the UNIFIL mission , where the Sassari Brigade is also stationed. No injuries were reported among Italian soldiers. Only minor damage to infrastructure was reported. The Ministry of Defense announced the news in a social media post.

The same note explains that "Defense Minister Guido Crosetto is in contact with the Chief of Defense Staff, the Commander of COVI, and the Commander of the Italian contingent to receive constant updates on the situation and the conditions of the personnel."
