Israeli air strikes in the early hours of the morning were launched on Yemen's Houthi-controlled capital Sana'a and other locations across the country . The Israeli military had earlier announced that it had intercepted a missile coming from Yemen, sounding sirens across the central country amid fears of falling debris.
The IDF says it hit "military targets," " including ports and energy infrastructure in Sana'a, which the Houthis have used for various military purposes."
According to Houthi-linked media, the attacks hit power plants, a port and an oil facility , leaving large areas of the country without electricity.
The Israeli attacks in Yemen constitute "a flagrant violation of the principles and norms of international law ," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said in a statement, condemning the "unconditional support of the United States" given to Israel.
