The US administration is preparing for a new series of attacks against Iran . Preparations are underway even though Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision . CBS reports this, citing sources who say several military and intelligence officials have canceled their weekend plans in the face of the possibility of strikes.
According to CNN , Trump was presented with options for resuming the war , with the president, according to Axios, seriously considering attacking Iran unless there is a last-minute breakthrough in negotiations.
A meeting convened this morning was attended by Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and other officials, Axios reports. The president was updated on the status of the negotiations and the various scenarios should they fail. Trump raised the possibility of a final, "decisive" military operation after which victory could be declared and the war ended. A few hours after the meeting, Trump revised his plans and decided to spend the weekend at the White House.
Meanwhile, all the mediators, starting with Pakistan, have converged in Tehran to try to finalize an initial agreement that will then pave the way for further negotiations and a final agreement.
