Sentenced to 4 months of suspended prison for exceeding the speed limit in a Ferrari that he himself had helped to design.

It happened in Japan, according to reports from the Kyodo News agency, where Kiyoyuki Okuyama , a well-known designer of the Italian house in the Land of the Rising Sun, was stopped driving the Enzo Ferrari model at a speed of 128 kilometers per hour, where the limit was of 40 km/h, on a very scenic mountainside of Yamagata prefecture.

Okuyama admitted to the offense, explaining to law enforcement that he "wanted to expose the engine to the fresh mountain air to cool it down," according to his lawyer. In the sentence the judge - while recognizing the danger of the excessive speed reached by the car - decided to apply the conditional suspension of the sentence due to the admission of responsibility.

The prosecution had asked for 4 months in prison. In addition to having designed the Ferrari Enzo, the 63-year-old designer is known in Japan for having worked on the E7 Shinkansen trains, and on the super-luxury sleeping carriages of the Train Suite Shiki Shima railway line.
