Houthi Attack on US Naval Vessels. Pentagon: "There Will Be Consequences"

The Houthi spokesman in Yemen announced an attack by the rebels on US naval vessels in the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea. These would be the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln and two destroyers deployed in the Red Sea.

The United States confirmed the attack (but not that the aircraft carrier Lincoln was targeted), which would have been carried out with drones and missiles, announcing reprisals. "There will be consequences for the illegal and reckless attacks" by the Houthis, the Pentagon warned.

In the preceding hours, the Houthis had reported three US and British air strikes against targets in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.
