A house in Coicoyán de las Flores, in the Mixtec indigenous region of Oaxaca, Mexico, burned down. Six siblings aged between 6 months and 11 years died in the stake.

According to what has been ascertained so far, the children's mother lit the gas stove in the morning and went to work in a mill. When she returned, the house had already been engulfed in flames, leaving no escape for the children.

The area where the tragedy occurred is considered by the federal government to be one of the three most marginalized and poor in the country.
