He wanted to take a selfie with his girlfriend, to bring home a memory of that holiday in Bali, Indonesia. But the railing of the terrace in the area of the Gajah Mas waterfalls gave way and the man, Giancarlo Zicari, a 49-year-old originally from Matera and resident in Pisa, fell down, falling 25 metres.

The partner remained unconscious for about an hour, then she realized that her boyfriend was dead, and raised the alarm. Zicari was also rescued but everything was in vain.
