Prince Harry and Meghan are returning to the UK with their children Archie and Lilibet, six years after their split with the British royal family, which culminated in their move to the United States.

Harry and Meghan aren't planning a royal residence in the UK, but a private home. As the BBC notes, it's expected to be a country house in the Cotswolds, a picturesque district nestled in the rural heart of Gloucestershire. This should afford the couple some privacy, away from the excessive media attention in London.

The announcement of their return came as a surprise in recent days and seems to have even surprised King Charles III.

For the couple, as well as for their young children who will be attending school next month, the issue of their security detail remains, which, according to several sources, is expected to be paid for by the state. The security review, requested by Harry after the revocation of his automatic right to protection, is set to be based on a completely new arrangement, which sees the sovereign's second son residing with his family in the country, despite having renounced his role as an "active member" of the Windsor dynasty.
