In Khan Younis , in the southern Gaza Strip , three Israeli hostages were released this morning, part of the sixth round of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza .
Hamas set up the usual stage , seen in previous releases, with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad flags and propaganda posters. There is also a photo of Israel’s slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar facing the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem with a caption in English, Hebrew and Arabic, which reads “No relocation except to Jerusalem,” a reference to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to resettle Palestinians from Gaza elsewhere.
Another poster shows some aerial images of the attack on October 7, 2023.
Images filmed by Al Jazeera and re-released by Israeli media showed hundreds of Palestinians gathered.
Hostages Alexander Sasha Trufanov, Saguy Dekel-Hen and Yair Horen were escorted by Hamas militants to the stage, where they spoke, then released.
Meanwhile, yesterday, in Lebanon, pro-Hezbollah demonstrators attacked a UNIFIL convoy, setting fire to one of the vehicles, in an ambush near Beirut airport.
