The pressure on intensive care is at its maximum and for this reason the health authorities of the Netherlands have requested and obtained to transport some Covid patients to Germany.
This was reported by the Dutch news agency Nos, explaining that the first two patients were transferred from the Franciscus Gasthuis & Vlietland in Rotterdam to the BGU hospital in the German city of Bochum.
"By relocating patients we intend to create space so that intensive care capacities remain available for both Covid patients and regular care," explained the center's spokesperson for LCPS, the national coordination for patient distribution (LCPS). , Monique Jacobs.
Holland is grappling with a new, serious surge in infections. Despite the situation, demonstrations have been organized in the Netherlands in recent days to contest the lockdowns and the containment measures imposed by the Government. Parades also resulted in clashes between demonstrators and police in some cities, such as Rotterdam and The Hague.
