The cause is torrential rains that have caused widespread flooding in the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries.
Images posted on X show rivers of water on the airport runways. The airport had to divert dozens of flights yesterday due to the storm. “We are working around the clock to respond to the emergency,” says the airport management company.
