The number of infections from Covid exceeds 200,000 for the first time in Germany, hitting a record of 203,136 infections in 24 hours.

According to the Robert Koch Institut, deaths related to the virus were 188, down from a week ago when there were 234.

The weekly incidence is 1017.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while the hospitalization rate is 4.26 admitted to intensive care per 100,000 inhabitants.

There are just under 2,500 patients in intensive care in Germany, compared to about 1,600 in Italy where, however, a much higher number of deaths are currently being recorded.
