Brazil, highway bridge collapses: at least 3 dead

At least three people died and another 14 were injured in the collapse of a bridge in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. Local authorities announced it.

The structure, located near Careiro 100 km from the regional capital Manaus, collapsed in the morning.

The dead are two men , one 39 years old and the other unidentified, and a 66 year old woman .

Orleilson Muniz, commander of the Amazonas fire department, estimates the death toll could rise .

A few days ago the traffic police had partially limited access to the bridge to light vehicles due to structural problems.
