This is what the American president, Joe Biden , underlines on the day in which the USA announces a new series of sanctions on over 500 Russian targets in response to the death of Alexei Navalny . «These sanctions – Biden's words – will target individuals linked to Navalny's detention , the Russian financial sector, defense industrial base, supply networks and sanctions evaders on multiple continents. They will make Putin pay an even higher price for his aggression abroad and repression at home ."

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky in an interview with Fox News invited Biden and Republican candidate Trump to visit Ukraine so that they can see "this tragedy" with their own eyes. And commenting on Trump's words according to which he would end the war in 24 hours, Zelensky specified: " Come and see and maybe he will change his mind ."

In the last few hours Joe Biden also met the widow and daughter of Alexei Navalny in San Francisco «to express his deepest condolences for their terrible loss», we read in the note from the White House which underlines that the president «has expressed his admiration for Navalny's extraordinary courage in the fight against corruption and for a free and democratic Russia."
