Eager to restart - After away defeats against Roseto and San Martino di Lupari, Dinamo Women play home. Tomorrow, fourth-place Derthona Tortona arrives at the PalaSerradimigni (3:00 PM). This is their final match of 2025 and precedes the Coppa Italia Final Eight, scheduled for January 4th, with the quarterfinal against Geas Sesto San Giovanni.
Coach Paolo Citrini introduced the match: "Today's Tortona is a team with high-ranking ambitions and can legitimately aim for the top four. They've only recently lost to Schio, are coming off three straight wins, and have a deep and competitive roster at every position."
If the Sassari team repeats its first-leg win (73-69), it will catch up with the Piedmontese team and, thanks to a 2-0 head-to-head record, will be considered ahead. The primary threat is Nigerian pivot Kunaiyi-Akpanah, who averages 13 rebounds and leads the league. Also keep an eye on former player Sara Toffolo, another outstanding rebounder.
The white-and-blue coach highlights the new signing: "They've added Fondren, who has brought additional physicality and talent, raising the team's overall level. By playing just one game a week, with no cup commitments, they can prepare very well for the games. For us, it's a real 'red circle' on the schedule, and we'll have to be very ready."
