Despite progress in recent decades, it's believed that STEM subjects continue to be favored by men. Women are often marginalized in this field of work and face a series of obstacles and challenges in conducting their research.

For this reason, during the Cagliari Science Festival, for the past three years, each day has been dedicated to a female scientist. The challenges these women faced along their journey are highlighted, as well as how they overcame them through determination and pride. This initiative aims to promote female figures as role models for the next generation. We spoke with Maria Cristina Mereu, of the Science Society Science Association and a member of the jury for the Women in Science Award.
