Sidelined because he wasn't part of the Torres project under coach Pazienza, he was recovered and reinstated under coach Alfonso Greco, proving crucial to the club's survival. Matteo Liviero will remain in Sassari for another two years. His contract was due to expire today, but the Sassari club has extended it until 2028.
A smart move given the physical and technical qualities of the 33-year-old winger, capable of lending a hand both in coverage and in building play with his acceleration and precise crossing.
Also expiring are winger Eyob Zambataro (who has several requests from Serie C), goalkeeper Michele Marano, and defender Riccardo Idda. Negotiations are ongoing to determine whether they can stay. However, the departure of second goalkeeper Danilo Petriccione is certain.
