For flights under territorial continuity, Volotea has announced that from Wednesday 22 December it will be able to guarantee boarding to passengers on a stretcher.

In fact, the airline is about to complete an important reconfiguration of its aircraft that will allow travel in peace and safety even for non self-sufficient travelers.

To allow the transport of stretchers on flights departing from and to Sardinia, the company has undertaken to readjust its vehicles. An intervention that will make it possible to maintain the same level of service offered and, at the same time, to guarantee passengers on a stretcher a comfortable travel experience.

From 22 December, therefore, all passengers who need to travel lying down and who require supervision or medical assistance during the flight will be able to fly aboard the Volotea fleet.

All requests for transportation of bedridden passengers must arrive at the airline within seven days of the flight departure date.

"All travelers forced on a stretcher will thus be able to count on us to organize their trips between Sardinia and the mainland - said Carlos Muñoz, president of Volotea -. It is a significant novelty that brings us even closer to the inhabitants of the island and their needs: we are working tirelessly to be able to announce important news dedicated to uninterrupted flights soon. With this additional additional service, we hope to be able to facilitate the transport of all passengers on stretchers, making it easier and more comfortable their travels. On board Volotea, our customers will always be able to find an environment suited to their needs and crews that are attentive, professional and always available ".
